The Experience
First of all, we should cover what you can expect at Camp EDC, the check-in process, the tents, and other details I know you’re curious about.
Day 1
We arrived at the opening gates on Thursday morning via Uber drop off. Since we were there so early (7am) us and the other rideshare drop-offs were unclear where we needed to go. We drug our luggage through the coarse gravel to get to the check-in location and that was rough. Pretty sure it effed up my luggage wheels.
Check-in was smooth. The lines are properly labelled based on your type of camping pod (Moon Glow or Desert Rose). We figured this out for ourselves so thought I should share – we had one camper in our group who arrived an hour after us. It was very easy to bring her wristband out to her and get her checked in.
After getting settled in our shift pod, we decorated the interior with string lights, tapestries, and a humidifier. It made our shift pod feel so homey and cozy and you should definitely add some of the extra touches to yours.
Next we went out to experience and enjoy Camp EDC.
Food options were awesome, by the way. Breakfast, Lunch, or Dinner, there was something that met all our tastes. Burgers, loaded fries, corny dogs, acai bowls, breakfast tacos, whatever. If you’re a boujee coffee-lover like me (espresso really), then the ice cream truck had the BEST specialty coffees with alternate milks for us lactose-avoiders. Skip the insane lines for plain black coffee and treat your mornings to better caffeination.
The downside, though, was that the food was NOT cheap. $20 for a burger and fries is pretty uncalled for in my opinion. I guess we’re not going to save money. To avoid breaking the bank, we brought two to three meals a day that we prepped in our tent with an electric kettle. Other campers had mini grills and cooking setups but without a car, we aimed to pack light. The electric kettle really did the trick. You can get more ideas for the meals we brought in the “food” section of the packing list.

Important Notes + Tips!
Have a meetup spot in EDC in case your group get separated.
PROTECT YOUR PHONES. Nothing kills a vibe like getting a phone stolen on EDC Day 1 (right, Anna?)
Shower lines can get insane. Check back periodically to slip in during downtime. Body Wipes suffice for in-between.
Start prepping for camping and outfits 2 months out. Things will start going out of stock online as the time gets closer.
